SLIGHTLY HOMEMADE GARDENERS' WORLD, JULY 4TH

Good evening and welcome to Slightly Homemade Gardeners' World. Luckily we now only have one more week to wait before a) the real thing comes back and possibly, b) we find out what on earth is going to befall the future of our second-favourite Friday night TV programme after Corrie.

In the interim, I am going to be investigating perfumed plants, finally bringing you that Pinks and Dianthus special (sorry my memory card went mental for a few days) and reporting to you on a possible Monopolies Commission investigation into Matthew Wilson.

I will also be bringing you a special slightly disappointed report from Broughton Grange: modern marvel or ropey old rubbish?

But first, here's a really bright flower I saw at Wissers the other day. Don't look at it too long! you might be blinded!

I have gone blind! Can you send me the forms to sue you?

no, because I totally told you not to.

I love your SHMGW. In a way I feel sad the real programme is coming back. Can't you keep doing SHMGW too, rather like BBC Four previewing all sorts of stuff that ends up on 2?

You could really go big time with it, have a launch party and everything, with canapes - perhaps based on the varying testicle sizes of differing animals?

Where's the shed package? I was promised a shed package? Where is it? People can change their vote you know...

Luckily I heeded your warning and wore shades. Maybe Lady Salisbury didn't before she made her way to the Carnation day?

Another tip top production Ms T.

Al, YOU were supposed to do the sheds, in a special spin-off show that eventually, like Frazier, became even more popular than the real thing!
